

Presentation: "Loda Lake Wildflower Sanctuary -- Past, Present and Future," by Karen Motawi, member of the Michigan Garden Clubs Loda Lake Committee.
Enjoy a virtual tour of this nearby Newaygo County treasure. The Loda Lake Wildflower Sanctuary is nestled in the Manistee National Forest. It is located just off M-37 approximately 6.8 miles north of White Cloud. It is the only wildflower sanctuary in the US Forest system. We will explore its paast -- virgin pine to lumbered wasteland to working farm, its present as a haven for countless native Michigan wildflowers and it's future as an educational resource.
Plant Sale will include native wildflowers, grasses, sedges and ferns from Designs By Nature.
Here is just a small sample of what species will be available: Butterfly Weed, Gray Headed Coneflower, Boneset, Blue Eyed Grass, Prairie Smoke, Great Blue Lobelia, Wild Iris, Rough Blazingstar, Wild Lupine, Pennsylvania Sedge, Big and Little Bluestem, Indian Grass, Maidenhair Fern, Cinnamon Fern, Wild Ginger, and much much more!
*Availability may be limited. Depends on seeds collected or plants rescued. Orders will not be taken for this sale. You must be present to purchase plants.
